Celebrities You Thought Are Long Gone But They Are Not Planning Their Retirement Just Yet

Celebrities come and go over the years, and we often forget about stars we used to love and idolize at one time during our lives. Sometimes, we even regard them as ‘dead’ if we haven’t heard about them in a while! However, you may be surprised to hear that some of the greatest actors, singers, and other well-known public personalities are still very much alive and kicking! That’s why we’ve come up with this list to figure out who is still working or enjoying life in the next chapter of their lives – in retirement.

Peggy Stewart – 94

Peggy Stewart is a great American actress who is most well-known for her work in many Western films during the 1940’s. The Florida-native began acting when she started working with the company Republic Pictures. Soon after signing with them, she managed to land roles in some really great Western films including the likes of Ride, Ryder Ride, and The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp. And her career didn’t end there. In more recent years she has played roles in other movies such as The Runaways and That’s My Boy. Her work as a Hollywood actress has earned her a great $18 million fortune. Although she in her 90’s, she does still take on some guest roles on TV shows every now and again. But she mostly relaxes and enjoys her old age.

Mel Brooks – 91

Mel Brooks is a man of many talents. He has been a successful actor, director, comedian and even producer over the course of his long career. He did extremely well for himself as an actor, and is only one of a handful of people who have received a Grammy, Tony, Academy Award and an Emmy. Over his well-to-do career, Brooks has managed to earn himself a $100 million net worth. But what is he up to today? Well, although he is 91 years of age, Brooks is still going strong with his acting and according to him, he doesn’t plan to stop any time soon! He is set to appear as a voiceover in Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation this year, and is in the midst of filming another movie set to be released in 2019.

Brooks has a son with his late wife Anne Bancroft, named Max who followed his father’s footsteps in the Hollywood industry, and is said to be making a name for himself there. He is also an avid writer.

Barbara Eden – 86

Barbara Eden made her very first appearance as an actress in 1956, when she was on The Johnny Carson Show. From there, she was seen on many a TV show as well as stage performances. Following her success in showbiz already, she then moved on to starring in movies, some of which are A Private’s Affairs, Swingin’ Along and Flaming Star, in which she acted alongside rock legend Elvis Presley. Her most famous role to date though has to be her role as Jeannie in the exceptionally popular sitcom I Dream of Jeannie, which was on screens in the 1960s. Up until 2016, Barbara was still very much on our television screens. She has made official plans of retirement yet, but when she does she will be comfortable with her net worth of $10 million.

Sophia Loren – 83

Italian-born Sophia Loren began her career in the entertainment industry as a model. Her first experience as a model was at the age of just 15, when she participated in a beauty pageant. The same year, 1950, she then decided to start a career as an actress. Her career really took off just 6 years later when she signed a contract with Paramount Pictures at age 21. Throughout her successful career, Sophia appeared in many, many movies and productions including It Started in Naples and The Pride and The Passion, and her impressive work amounted to a $75 million net worth. Now at age 83, we occasionally see the superstar at some red carpet events, but on a day-to-day basis she lives a quieter life out of the spotlight that was once shining bright upon her.

Dick Van Dyke – 92

92 year old Dick Van Dyke has had an amazingly successful career in showbiz. As an actor, dancer and singer, he has managed to build an incredible $50 million net worth. He is probably most well known for his series The Dick Van Dyke Show, but he also starred in famous films such as Bye Bye Birdie, Mary Poppins and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. The actor has a son names Barry Van Dyke,, who is now a famous actor in his own right. The pair appeared together in Murder 101, a popular TV series. Dyke hit headlines back in 2013 when he was involved in a traffic car accident, which almost killed him. He was removed from the car wreck minutes before the entire car burst into flames.

Robert Conrad – 84

A graduate from Northwestern University, Robert Conrad, is best known for his role in Wild Wild West, wherein he played a sophisticated secret service agent. Conrad suffered from a road accident in the year 2003, which left him partially paralysed.He was married to his first wife Joan, and the marriage lasted 25 years. He has 5 kids with Joan and with his second wife LaVelda, he has 3 children. Robert today is crippled and his fans only wish for his good health.

Ann-Margret Olsson – 77

Ann-Margret Olsson was born in Sweden but relocated to the United States in 1946 when she was just 5 years old. She went on to become a famous actress and was cast for some very well-known films such as Bye Bye Birdie and Viva Las Vegas. Over her career, Ann-Margret built herself a net worth of $20 million, and won 5 Golden Globe Awards for her work. She was also a beautiful singer, and rumours even sparked that she has a relationship with the one and only Elvis Presley whilst the pair filmed Viva Las Vegas. She was then happily married to her husband Roger Smith until her sadly passed away.
